Tech Tool Kit

This site is devoted to listing educator-friendly, copyright free resources for audio, video and pictures which may be helpful to students and teachers.  All information posted here was current as of 10/9/2010.  Information on the web changes frequently, therefore it is important the you double check the services listed to be sure their terms of use or license information hasn't changed.  The information here is not legal advice and should not be treated as such.  As always there is NO substitute for the educator's good judgement in what is ethically appropriate for their students, therefore it is suggested that you preview a site before offering it up for student use.

When building web pages, multimedia presenations or even handouts, there are copyright laws to consider.  Therefore, consider sites devoted to "copyleft", public domain, or Creative Commons content.  These sites have fewer restrictions and typically allow educational, non-commercial use of their images, video, and audio files.

Want a book with good practical advice for copyright in education?  I recommend Copyright for Schools: A Practical Guide by Carol Ann Simpson.
